Please note: This session is 1hr 30mins and the evening session starts at 6.30pm! Overview: This session, Sustaining the Inquiry Ecosystem: Leadership, Advocacy and Systemic Change, empowers school librarians to take on leadership roles in fostering a sustainable, school-wide inquiry culture. It focuses on advocacy, systemic change, and capacity-building within educational communities. Participants will explore strategies for leadership, develop compelling advocacy approaches, and identify ways to integrate inquiry into school systems for lasting impact. Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will: Recognise their role as leaders in advancing inquiry-based learning across their schools. Develop advocacy strategies to communicate the value of inquiry to key stakeholders. Identify practical steps to embed inquiry into curriculum, professional development, and school policies. Three Key Takeaways: Librarians are leaders: Effective advocacy and collaboration can position school librarians as essential partners in shaping pedagogy. Inquiry needs systemic support: Lasting change requires integrating inquiry into curriculum, professional development, and assessment policies. Strategic advocacy is key: Using data, narratives, and stakeholder engagement strengthens the case for inquiry in schools.
