I want to share that Rachel has managed to secure herself a new job moving from school libraries into College libraries. She starts as the Library manager at Derby College in September 2024. This is a fully deserved move for a librarian who constantly pushes herself to achieve more.
As a school librarian she was constantly learning and moving forward. Happy to discuss and share her learning, she joined the Great School Libraries committee, CILIP SLG committee, became one of the CILIP125, gained a CILIP Chartership and is now doing a Master's in Library and Information Services.
She joined my membership as a founding member and is leaving with the courage to spread her wings onto new challenges. I wish her the very best in her future career.
"Being a member has given me a better understanding of what a school library can and should be and the many areas of librarianship that are needed to create a good school library. Elizabeth keeps us in the loop about developments, especially with AI, this helped me to communicate this in a recent interview and they seemed particularly impressed by this".
"Membership compliments the support you get from elsewhere by going beyond reading for pleasure. Elizabeth is always happy to support wherever she can and the sessions are small enough that you feel comfortable contributing".
