Would other Librarians like to share their ideas on what they have done over the last year to engage more students in the library. Have you made many changes from standard libraries.

I've decided that next year I will aim to work more collaboratively with students. If I want them in and using the library I think they need to have more of a say in what happens. It's a fine balance between letting them run free and helping them take ownership and therefore feel engaged.
The approach needs to be two fold though, I am also trying to get staff in the space, for meetings at least, so that they see and are seeing in the library. I want students to think that staff value it.
